Professor Lihong Zheng Named Finalist for the 2025 Asia Pacific Women in AI Awards

Congratulations to Prof Lihong Zheng | School of Computing, Mathematics, and Engineering | who was recently named a finalist for the 2025 Asia Pacific (APAC) Women in AI Awards.

Lihong holds a Master of Science in Industrial Automation from Taiyuan University of Technology and earned her PhD in Computing Sciences from the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Technology Sydney. She is a distinguished academic and applied research leader, renowned for her commitment to developing innovative, real-time solutions across diverse domains.

Her research journey began in industrial robotics and evolved through impactful work in vehicle license plate recognition for highway traffic monitoring. Currently, her focus lies in artificial intelligence and computer vision applications for smart agriculture. Under her leadership, her multidisciplinary research team has successfully translated cutting-edge research into tangible business value, achieving several high-impact outcomes.
