Faculty Blog Commentary and Analysis Submission Guidelines

  1. Eligibility and Invitation
    Submissions are open to academic staff by invitation or through an application process.
    Invitations will be extended by the Faculty Sub Deans for Learning and Teaching, and the Sub Dean for Research.
  2. Submission Process
    Interested contributors must submit an abstract or outline of their proposed commentary or analysis.
    The abstract should include the main points and expected contributions to the academic discourse.

  3. Review and Referee Process
    All submissions will undergo a peer-review process conducted by the Faculty Sub Dean for Learning and Teaching and the Sub Dean for Research.
    The review process will evaluate the submission for:
    • Intellectual rigor and academic standards.
    • Relevance and contribution to the field.
    • Clarity and coherence of arguments.
    • Proper citation of sources and adherence to academic integrity.
  4. Editorial Oversight
    Any editorial issues, including revisions and disputes arising from the review process, will be resolved by the Executive Dean.
    The Executive Dean’s decisions on editorial matters are final and binding.
  5. Content Guidelines
    Submissions should be focused on commentary and analysis of research or teaching practices.
    Personal opinions must be supported by evidence and scholarly analysis.
    Submissions should avoid anecdotal or purely opinion-based content without academic support.
    Contributions must be original and not previously published in other venues.

  8. References and citations should follow the appropriate academic style guide (APA referencing style)
  9. Publication Ethics
    Authors must ensure the accuracy of the information presented and appropriately cite all sources.
    Submissions must not contain any form of plagiarism or academic misconduct.
    Authors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
  10. Feedback and Revisions
    Authors will receive constructive feedback from reviewers.
    Revisions may be required based on the reviewers’ comments and must be completed within the specified timeframe.
  11. Final Approval
    The final decision on publication will be made by the Executive Dean based on the recommendations from the review process.
    Authors will be notified of the publication decision and any required final adjustments.
