Dr Donnah Anderson, Senior Lecturer from the School of Psychology Port Macquarie campus, recently consulted with the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) at the NSW Advocate for Children and Young People regarding survey findings from the School is For Everyone (SIFE) research project. The YAC consists of 12 young people aged between 12-24 years of age and they advise the NSW Government on issues that are relevant to young people across the state. The SIFE research project is funded by the NSW Department of Education Strategic Research Fund and will be completed later this year. Dr Anderson is a Chief Investigator on the project and is leading the quantitative phase. This consultation explored what the survey results might mean for school practices to ensure positive experiences for young people at school and will inform the development of a professional learning package for NSW public schools.
