Welcome Back!

Welcome to the start of a new academic year and a return to working on campus. It is great to see the familiar backdrops of your offices and meeting rooms in Zoom sessions with students progressively returning to on-campus study.

Overall student numbers in the Faculty are holding up with online numbers in particular, thanks to the Federal Government funded Job-Ready Graduate Package initiative for PG short courses (Graduate Certificates), performing well.

Organisational review: departures and feedback

At the start of this year, we said farewell to a group of staff some of who have been with us for many years. We wish all staff who have decided to leave us by voluntary separation all the very best in their future endeavours and it is nice to see that many will still be connected to the University moving forward. Because some people did not want to be named as leaving we are not able to share a full list of everyone who has left across the Faculty.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your thorough and thoughtful feedback on OR2 draft change proposals. Feedback closes 5pm Wednesday 17 February 2021. We hope to work through it as quickly as possible and we may need to reach out to some areas for further clarification. https://staff.csu.edu.au/manage-my-employment/sustainable-futures/org-review-2

Tanveer Zia

On my recent visit to the Wagga campus, I had the pleasure of catching up with Tanveer Zia before he jetted off on a new adventure. Tanveer has taken up a new position as Professor of Cyber Security and Associate Director of Centre of Excellence in Cybercrime and Digital Forensic at the Naïf Arab University for Security Sciences in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The University caters to the research and training for policing and cybersecurity for interior ministries of 22 countries in the Middle East and North Africa region.  We wish Tanveer all the best in the next chapter of his career and look forward to working with him again in collaborations.
