Academic Skills

Embedding academic skills strategies and resources in a subject is the most effective way to ensure your students get the support they need at the time they need it. Consider the types of issues your students face and whether one of these strategies or resources developed by the Academic Skills team might assist them to better understand expectations and subject content, coherently demonstrate their learning in assessments, or develop their communication, learning, referencing, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills:

  • workshops or tutorials
  • recorded presentations
  • interactive learning resources or quizzes
  • study guides
  • deconstructed model texts (essays, reports, etc.)
  • easy-to-use tools to provide feedback on language and referencing
  • literacy or numeracy online diagnostic assessments and learning modules
