Sub Dean TOL May Update

TOL 202030 update

This week we commenced sprint 3 for the 202030 development period. The following subjects are being TOLified in this sprint:

  • ITC514
  • ITC573
  • LAW213
  • LAW308
  • LAW314
  • MGT583
  • PPP100

So far everything is progressing well, with all subjects on target for completion by the end of the sprint in three weeks time.

Great feedback about TOL from academics

At the end of each TOL sprint, Kirsten Donaldson, our Learning Experience Analyst, surveys academics to get their feedback. Below are some responses from the most recent sprints, which show how pleased people are with their completed TOL sites:

I was surprised at how well the subject page came up to be frank. It looks great and the extra opportunities for students to use interactive content are great. I look forward to seeing how this improves the level of student interaction, in particular with the discussion forums.

Thoroughly enjoyed working with the TOL team on this project. Could not be happier with the way things started, progressed and ended up. Great job!

Not only have we enhanced the ‘shop window’, immensely improving the way in which the subject looks, we have also updated and amended the content and structure and I am confident that the student experience will be vastly improved as a result.

TOL course completions

One of the aims of the TOL pilot within BJBS is to ensure that all core subjects across several of our key programs are completely TOLified. This blanket enhancement will allow us to market the improved online experience to potential students at a course level. With this in mind, I am pleased to announce the following courses have now had their core subjects enhanced by TOL:

  • Bachelor of Psychology
  • Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology)
  • Graduate Certificate in Applied Data Science
  • Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning
  • Graduate Diploma of Psychology
  • Master of Business Administration (with Specialisations)
  • Master of Cyber Security
  • Master of Cyber Studies and Investigations
  • Master of Human Resource Management
  • University Certificate in Workforce Essentials

In addition, several other BJBS courses will have their core subjects “TOL complete” by 202060. These include the Bachelor of Laws, Master of Dispute Resolution, and the Grad Cert in Organisational Change.

Six sessions tracking nicely

Our six session initiative (now branded as “Your Choice”) continues to increase in popularity. In 202015 we achieved an intake of 23 new postgraduate students. For 202045, we are currently sitting at 52 acceptances across selected postgraduate IT and business courses. This represents a substantial increase on the corresponding 2019 numbers. Further information on this initiative can be found at the following web page, which is where prospective students are directed to via our “Your Choice” social media campaign: https://study.csu.edu.au/courses/your-choice
