Social Science Week is a national event giving social scientists the opportunity to promote their research to non-academic audiences.
CSU participated in Social Science Week for the first time last year. We had public lectures in Canberra and Albury, a report launch in Bathurst and a public webinar involving colleagues from across the University. The organising committee, chaired by Jen Bond, in the School of Environmental Sciences is hoping to have even greater CSU participation this year and, especially, to have more campuses and a wider range of events. The only real criteria is that the event is, in some way, focused on a non-academic audience. Social Science Week is a significant community engagement opportunity for CSU and last year’s participants certainly found it a very useful experience.
