Hi Everyone. It’s only been a few weeks since our last update so this month’s news will be brief. Our TOL team is in the final stages of completing work on subjects scheduled to run in 201930. Most of these subjects are going through the final editing process, and will be available to students from February 18.
From March 4, we will commence work on the next batch of subjects using an Agile, sprint-based approach. We are currently in the process of finalising these subjects with Heads of School. I will provide an update on the nominated subjects in the March edition of the newsletter.
A big thanks to Irfan Altas and the School of Computing and Maths for inviting me to present on TOL at their annual Workshop in Goulburn last week. Jay Cohen and I are also scheduled to visit the School of Accounting and Finance on 21st February to talk about TOL at their Canberra-based workshop. Thanks also to Rui Bi, Yianni Athanasopoulos, Felicity Small, and Tahmid Nayeem for their work on showcasing their own TOL subjects at the recent School of Management and Marketing workshop.
ASSIST stands for Assessment Scheduling and Student Interactive Support Tools. ASSIST is a multi-use system that encompasses dashboard metrics as well as assessment scheduling options that were formerly available through the Study Planner tool. This technology is currently being finalised by DIT, and will be available for use in selected TOL subjects. Online sessions will be scheduled soon to launch and showcase this technology.
