Developing Students’ Digital Literacy Skills

The Division of Library Services has developed two new resources to support the implementation of the Digital Literacy Graduate Learning Outcome – one for staff and one for students.

The Digital Literacy Resource Guide provides practical ways academics can embed digital literacy concepts into subjects and courses as well as examples of best practice. Contact me, Jula Ryder as your BJBS Faculty team leader, to explore ways to incorporate Digital Literacy into the curriculum.

Your Digital Life has been designed as a self-paced, interactive online tutorial for students that explores the concepts of digital citizenship and digital communication through three modules: Participating Online, Protecting Yourself Online and Promoting Yourself Online. These modules can be shared with your students in your subject site.

These resources are available on the DLS website under the Teach and Study tabs. You can also learn more about Digital Literacy by attending the DLT Professional Development session on 30 October with Susanna Back and Carole Gerts.
